Posted on January 7th, 2008

In this tutorial you will re-create pixel2life.com arrow logos.

Step one:

Start with a #454545 canvas.
Create a new layer-set titled Arrow logo. In a new layer draw a white circle, sized width: 99px, height: 99px.

Step two:

In a new layer draw a #5EAB05 circle, sized width: 93px, height: 93px.
Add the following layer styles: Satin, Gradient Overlay, Stroke.

Step three:

In a new layer draw a black eclipse using the eclipse tool. See picture guide for exact location.
Cut half of the circle on the bottom.

Step four:

grab the eraser tool with a large soft brush.
Using the eraser tool, erase the bottom part of the half circle.
Add the following layer styles: Inner Shadow, Satin.
Set layer’s blending mode to Lighten.

Step five:

Make the same half circle on the opposite side. When adding layer-styles just edit the angle settings to the opposite number.

Step six:

Make a new layer-set titled Arrow.
Now make the arrows using the pen tool. Trace out each shape you see on the picture guide below in separate layers.

Step seven:

Duplicate arrow layer-set and set aside the original by turning the layer off.
With the duplicate layer-set, go to Layer > Merge layer set to merge the duplicate arrow layer-set.
Go to Select > Load Selection > Default. While the arrow is selected, go to Select again and then
navigate through Modify > Smooth > Sample Radius: 3px.

Step eight:

In a new layer draw a black polygon pointing down.
Add the following layer styles: Inner Shadow, Satin, Stroke.
