Modern Navigation

Design a modern navigation interface.

Step one:

Start with a large black canvas. Make a new layer set titled Modern Navigation.
In a new layer draw a thin #650000 rectangle using the rectangle tool. (width: 400 x height: 4)
Add the following layer styles: Gradient Overlay.

Step two:

Duplicate the thin #650000 rectangle. Set layer’s opacity level to 54%.
Again duplicate the thin #650000 rectangle. Set layer’s opacity level to 40%.
One more time duplicate the thin #650000 rectangle. Set layer’s opacity level to 25%.

Step three:

In a new layer draw a black circle. (width: 137 x height: 137)

Step four:

Now cut half of the black circle.
Add the following layer styles: Drop Shadow.
Set layer’s blending mode to Lighten.

Step five:

Duplicate the black half circle layer.
Add the following layer styles: Drop Shadow, Inner Shadow, Stroke.
Set layer’s blending mode to Lighten.

Step six:

In a new layer draw a #000000 eclipse. (width: 84 x height: 50)
Add the following layer styles: Inner Glow, Stroke.

Step seven:

Choose the polygon tool from the main toolbar and set the sides setting to 3 with anti-aliased checked.
In a new layer draw a white 3 sided polygon. (width: 32 x height: 31)
Add the following layer styles: Inner Glow, Gradient Overlay, Stroke.
Set layer’s blending mode to Darken.

Step eight:

In a new layer draw a black 3 sided polygon. (width: 16 x height: 15)
Add the following layer styles: Gradient Overlay, Stroke.

Step nine:

Add your first navigation using font Eurostile, bold, 18pt, Sharp and #FFFFFF.
Add the following layer styles: Gradient Overlay, Stroke.

Step ten:

Complete your navigation the rest of your links.
